How to block someone, and what a block stops
For anyone on EVVA: where the control is, what changes for both sides at once, and what a block does not do.
Blocking stops messages in both directions, immediately. It takes effect for both of you: once either of you has blocked the other, neither can send.
Block or unblock
On a profile, open the ••• menu and choose Block <name> or Unblock <name>. A conversation also has its own block control.
- The menu reads the current state when you open it, so open it fresh if you are unsure.
- Blocking someone who is already blocked is a success, not an error — nothing changes.
- If the write fails, the menu stays open and says “That did not go through, so nothing changed. Try again.” Nothing was half-applied.
- You cannot block yourself. EVVA answers “Cannot block yourself”.
You can only lift a block you placed. If somebody has blocked you, you are never offered an Unblock for it, and EVVA does not tell you it happened. That is deliberate.
What a block stops
Once a block stands between two people, neither can send to the other:
- in a one-to-one conversation
- in a mass message from a creator — the recipient is skipped
- in an ice-breaker message
What a block does not do
- It does not hide their profile or their posts from you, or yours from them.
- It does not cancel a subscription or any access either of you has already paid for.
- It does not report them. Reporting is separate: How to report a creator or a message.
A creator can review the fans they have blocked from the Blocked fans row in their settings. Anyone can check one person’s state from that person’s profile menu.
”Recipient is not accepting messages”
If you see this when sending, EVVA is deliberately not telling you why. One message covers several situations:
- a block, in either direction
- a mute
You will not be able to tell which from the message, and that is intended — it does not confirm what the other person did.
A different kind of refusal names itself, because you can act on it. A creator’s published inbox policy says so directly:
- “This creator only accepts messages from followers”
- “This creator only accepts messages from followers and subscribers”
- “This creator opens their inbox to fans who have sent a gift”
If you get one of those, the wording tells you what would open the inbox. If you get “Recipient is not accepting messages”, nothing you do will.
