How to hide or show adult content
For anyone browsing EVVA: where the setting lives, what it changes, and what it cannot do.
Adult content is shown to you unless you turn it off. The switch is in your account settings, it saves as soon as you use it, and it applies to everything EVVA sends you from then on.
Turn adult content off
There is no Save button. The label under the card tells you where you stand: Adult content is shown or Adult content is hidden.
If you have never used this switch, the card says: “You have not chosen yet, so this is EVVA’s default. Setting it either way records your choice.” Saving the same choice twice changes nothing.
The switch does not move until EVVA confirms the change. If the save fails you see “That did not save, so your setting is unchanged. Try again.” — and your setting really is unchanged, so nothing was half-applied.
If EVVA cannot read your current setting, the card shows no switch at all and says “We could not read your setting just now, so it is not shown here. Nothing has changed — reload the page to try again.”
What changes when adult content is hidden
EVVA stops sending the excluded items rather than hiding them in your browser. The narrowing is applied to:
- the public content list and the page for a single item
- search results
- Discover
It also excludes anything nobody has rated yet. EVVA shows you only what was positively marked as not adult, so an item with no rating is hidden too — see Age on EVVA, and why adult content is shown by default. Turning the setting off therefore narrows what you see by more than the adult material alone.
The setting belongs to your account, so it only applies while you are signed in. A signed-out visitor is never asked and always gets EVVA’s default, which shows adult content.
What it does not do
- It is a content filter, not an age check.
- It does not stop a specific person from reaching you. For that, see How to block someone, and what a block stops.
