Choosing “18+ content” or “General content” as a creator

For creators in onboarding: what that answer decides, what it does not decide, and what happens if your age cannot be confirmed.

The answer decides one thing: whether EVVA needs evidence that you are over 18 before your creator account can be activated. It does not restrict what you can upload afterwards.

You give it at the onboarding step What kind of content will you be creating?, choosing 18+ content or General content.

If you choose 18+ content

Your age is read from the identity check, and only after your identity has been verified. There are three outcomes:

  • Confirmed over 18. You continue to the last step and activate your account.
  • Not confirmed yet. The wizard says “We still need to confirm your age” and “Adult content requires proof that you are over 18. Run the identity check again with a document that shows your date of birth.” Run the check again with a document that shows your date of birth.
  • Established as under 18. The wizard says “We could not confirm that you are over 18” and “We are not able to open an adult creator account without it.” No retry is offered.

If you choose General content

You are never asked for age evidence. EVVA does not even look it up.

Can you change your answer?

Yes, while you are still in onboarding. Your answers stay editable until your account is activated — including while you are waiting on verification or while the wizard is asking you for something.

After activation the declaration stays as you gave it. If it needs to change, ask EVVA.

Whichever way you answered, the content guidelines still apply to everything you post. A person at EVVA can take a file down or suspend the account, and when they do, the file serves to nobody — including you. See What moderation on EVVA does today.

  • Choosing AI rather than Human as your creator type changes nothing about verification or age evidence.
  • If Verify and start earning answers “Verification cannot be started right now”, that is EVVA’s side, not a judgement about you. Try again later.
  • Returning to EVVA from the identity provider is not proof of anything by itself. Your state only changes when the provider’s signed result reaches EVVA, which can be a moment later.
