Which EVVA site do I sign in to?
For anyone returning to EVVA — the one sign-in door, where each button takes you, and what decides where you land.
Sign in on the EVVA app — the fan site. There is one sign-in door for everybody, fan and creator alike, and Log In on the EVVA website points at it. You do not have to work out which part of the product hosts your side of it: once you are signed in, EVVA sends you where your account can actually go.
What each button opens
The creator site has a sign-in form of its own, and it works. You rarely need it: signing in on EVVA reaches the studio for you.
What decides where you land
After you sign in, in this order:
- If you were sent to sign-in from a particular page, you go back to that page.
- If your account has creator access, EVVA hands you to the creator studio.
- Otherwise you land on the EVVA home page.
Signing up on the creator site does not change where a later sign-in takes you. Until creator access is granted at the end of onboarding, your account is a fan account, so rule 3 applies and you land on the EVVA home page. That looks like a mistake and is not one — see Using EVVA as a creator for how to pick onboarding back up.
Signing in with Google
Continue with Google works on both the sign-in and the sign-up page, and a first Google sign-in can create a brand-new EVVA account, because Google confirms that your email address is verified.
An account created by signing in with Google has no password at all. If you later try to sign in with an email and password, you are told “Invalid email or password.” — which is true: there is no password on that account.
To set one, use Forgot your password? on the sign-in page; it works for a Google-created account and sets a password for the first time.
If a Google sign-in is refused with “This email is already registered with a password”, that address already has an EVVA account created another way. Sign in with your password instead.
Signing in with X
Continue with X appears on the sign-in page, and Connect X on your account page is what links X to your account.
X can only sign you in to an account you have already connected X to, and it can never create a new EVVA account, because X does not share a verified email address. A first X sign-in is refused with “This provider did not share a verified email address, so we could not sign you in.” Create your account with an email address or with Google, then connect X.
If sign-in refuses you
- “Invalid email or password.” — the address, the password, or both. It is also what an account with no password gets, which is the Google case above.
- “Too many attempts. Please wait and try again.” — more than 10 failed attempts for one email address from one place within 10 minutes. Wait and try again; the message on the creator site names the number of seconds.
- “Sign-in could not be completed” — a Google sign-in that did not finish. The commonest cause is starting Continue with Google in a second tab, which breaks the first tab’s attempt. Start again in one tab. A browser that blocks site data, including private-browsing modes, can also fail this way every time.
- “This link is no longer valid” — a reset or confirmation link that has expired, has already been used, or has been replaced by a newer one. Request a fresh one. Only the newest link ever works: asking for a second reset email silently kills the first.
These messages are deliberately identical for several different causes, so the wording cannot tell you — or anyone else — which one applied. Requesting a reset link never reveals whether an address has an account either: the screen always says “If that address has an EVVA account, a reset link is on its way. It is valid for 30 minutes.” A mistyped address gets exactly the same answer.
