How do I cancel a subscription?
For fans — where to cancel, what you keep, and why access does not stop the moment you press the button
Cancel from the Subscriptions tab of your Following screen: open the row’s menu, choose Cancel subscription, then confirm Cancel subscription. You can also cancel from the creator’s profile, under the line that says you are subscribed.
You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
What happens when you confirm
The subscription stops renewing. The row stays in your list, relabelled ENDING, with an Access ends date. The message reads:
“This subscription will not renew. You keep access until the period you bought ends.”
The date is then re-read from the server, because only the server knows whether a renewal settled just before your cancellation landed.
Cancelling never refunds the period you are in, and it never ends access straight away. Cancellation always takes effect at the end of the period you bought — giving up a period you have already paid for is not what the cancel button does. If you see “This subscription has ended.” instead, there was no recurring agreement standing behind that row in the first place.
If you cancel twice
Nothing breaks. A second cancellation answers “This subscription was already ending.”
If the confirmation fails with “This subscription is being updated; try again”, a renewal or another change was landing at the same moment. Wait a few seconds and try again.
What you see in the list
If the whole list says subscriptions are unavailable, that is the screen telling you it could not read them — it is not the same as having none.
Subscribing again later
You can subscribe to the same creator again at any time. One thing does not come back: a free trial is once per creator, and cancelling does not restore it. See How does a free trial work?.
What cancelling does not do
- It does not remove your card from file. Having a card taken off file is a separate request — see Saved cards and standing authorisation.
- It does not refund anything. Asking for money back on a specific purchase is a separate request, decided by the creator.
