Unlocking a paid post or message
For fans — how a one-off unlock works, how long it takes to open, and what to do if the wait runs long
A paid post or a paid message opens once the payment provider confirms your payment. You pay once; there is nothing recurring.
Unlocking a post
- Open the post, or press the price pill on the card in a feed or on a profile. The button reads
Unlock $4.99, or names a card you have on file:Unlock Visa •••• 4471. - Choose how to pay. The sheet says: “This item is sold by the creator. Choose how to pay — your EVVA balance or a card — and it opens as soon as the platform confirms the money.”
- Confirm. On the card form the button reads
Confirm and unlock. - The sheet moves to Finishing your payment and waits.
Unlocking a paid message
Same flow, inside the conversation: the locked bubble carries the price, and the same payment sheet opens in the chat. A message price belongs to that one conversation.
How long the wait is
The sheet re-checks whether the item has opened six times over about 21 seconds. If it is still locked when that runs out:
“The platform has not confirmed this yet. Nothing more is needed from you — close this, and the item opens here as soon as it does.”
That message means exactly what it says. You do not need to pay again, and paying again would open a second purchase. Close the sheet, and open the post or the conversation again later — the item unlocks when the server says it has been paid for, not when a timer runs out.
If it says you already have access
“You already have access to this content” (or “to this message”) means the unlock has already gone through. Nothing was charged a second time — close the sheet and open the item.
Paying from your balance
If your balance does not cover the item you land on a short-of-funds view. Adding money is a separate payment and a separate step: your balance rises when the top-up is confirmed, and you then unlock the item from it. See Your EVVA balance.
What an unlock does not do
- It does not subscribe you to the creator, and it does not renew.
- It does not cover the creator’s other priced items — each paid post or paid message is bought on its own.
Everything you have unlocked is listed in your Library.
