How do I order a service from a creator?
For fans buying a listed service — the two routes through the checkout, and which one takes your money.
There are two routes to the same order, and they behave differently. From a card in /marketplace you get a checkout sheet that collects your brief and then takes the payment. From a creator’s full service page, Order · $X raises the order straight away and leaves the payment for later.
Either way, nothing is charged until you press a button that names a payment, and the money is held until you accept the delivery.
Route 1 — from a card in the marketplace
Open a service card
On /marketplace, under Browse, press a service card. A sheet opens on the service, with What you get, the creator’s Samples where there are any, and the terms.
Choose a package
Where a creator offers tiers you pick one of Basic, Standard or Premium under Packages. Press the chosen tier again to go back to the listed price.
Press Continue · $X
This commits nothing. It moves you to the checkout step, headed Place your order.
Add extras and your brief
Extras are the creator’s optional add-ons. Your brief is optional — “Anything the creator should know. Optional.” What you write here is attached to the order, and the delivery is judged against it.
Check the Summary
Summary lists the package, each extra, and the Total. Every amount is EVVA’s own figure, not one your browser worked out, so the total and the charge cannot disagree.
When the payment is submitted you see Order placed — “$X is on its way for [the service]. The order holds it until you accept the delivery.” Press Go to My orders to open it.
Pay $X into escrow raises the order first and takes the payment second. If you close the sheet at the Complete your payment step, or press Pay later — see the order, the order exists and is unpaid: it sits at Awaiting payment, nothing is held, and the creator does not start. Route 2 — from the full service page
On a creator’s own service page at /marketplace/services/[service] the button reads Order · $X.
This route collects no brief and shows no order summary. Pressing Order · $X raises the order immediately and takes you to it — unpaid, at Awaiting payment. You then pay it from the My orders tab on /marketplace. If you want to send the creator a brief with the order, use the sheet from a marketplace card instead.
Messages you see on this route:
- “This is your own service. You cannot order it.”
- “This service cannot be ordered right now. Nothing was charged.”
- “That could not be sent just now. Nothing was charged.”
In each case nothing was charged.
What the terms on the page mean
Your brief and the revision allowance are pinned to the order when it is placed, and do not change afterwards.
If the button will not press
- It is disabled while the price is still being worked out — it reads Pricing… until EVVA answers, then re-enables.
- Fully booked means “This creator is at their limit right now. A place opens as they finish current work.”
- Not taking new work means “This creator has closed their books. Follow them to hear when they reopen.”
Where the order lives
Marketplace orders sit on the My orders tab of /marketplace, under the filters Active, Offers, Delivered and Completed. They also appear in your purchases at /purchases, though the payment button is on the marketplace tab.
There is no buyer service fee. The Total you agree is the amount charged; EVVA’s share comes out of the creator’s side of the sale.
