How paying works on EVVA

Every purchase on EVVA happens in two separate steps. First an order is opened: a record of what you asked for, priced by EVVA’s servers. Then your payment is submitted against that order. Your browser never sends an amount — it sends a reference to the thing you are buying, and the server decides what it costs.

That is why the wording you see is always “on its way” and never “paid”.

The two steps

1. The order. Pressing Subscribe, Unlock, a tip amount or Order opens an unpaid order. Nothing has been charged at this point.
2. The payment. Your card, saved card or EVVA balance is then submitted against that order.

When the payment is accepted, EVVA holds a durable instruction to move the money. The result — approved or declined — comes back from the payment provider afterwards, on its own schedule. Nothing in the app can tell you the money has actually moved, so nothing in the app says it has.

What you see while a payment settles

• On a subscription: “Your card details were accepted. EVVA is waiting for the platform to confirm the money — your subscription starts on its own once it does.”
• On a paid post or message: a Finishing your payment view, then “Your card was submitted. This item opens on its own once the platform confirms the money.”
• On a storefront payment: “Your payment is on its way to the creator. It appears in your purchases once the payment provider confirms it.”

Press once

Each payment attempt carries a one-use key so that retrying the same attempt cannot charge you twice. A new press is a different attempt: it opens a second order with a second charge, and both are lawful as far as the platform is concerned.

Paying a creator directly from their storefront

A creator can publish a storefront where you choose your own amount.

1. On the storefront, press the creator’s checkout button (by default Continue to checkout). The note under it reads “You’ll choose an amount on the next step. No payment is taken yet.”
2. Enter an amount in USD, or press one of the creator’s suggested chips. The helper text names the creator’s own range, for example “Choose between $5.00 and$100.00.”
3. Press Review order. You are shown the amount, the platform fee rate, the platform fee and what the creator receives, with the note “Amounts, fees, and order source are set by the platform. No payment is taken at this step.”
4. Press Create pending order. The result screen shows the Order ID, Status, Amount and Source, and says “Your order is placed. Nothing has been charged yet — complete the payment below.”
5. Pay on that same screen. The buttons name the amount and the method you actually have — for example Pay $25.00 from your balance or Pay $25.00 with Visa •••• 4471.

You need to be signed in with a buyer account. An anonymous visitor is sent to sign in first; an account without buyer access sees “Buyer account required — This page is available to buyer accounts. Sign in with a buyer account to continue.”

How much of your payment reaches the creator

The platform’s share of a sale is 25% when the buyer arrived through the creator’s own link or audience, and 50% when EVVA brought the buyer. The creator keeps the rest.

You see this split only on a storefront checkout, where the review step names the platform fee rate, the platform fee and what the creator receives. Purchase records elsewhere show the total you paid and deliberately do not break out fees.

Finishing an order you left unpaid

An unpaid order stays awaiting payment until you pay it — nothing is charged in the meantime. For Marketplace work, open the order from your Marketplace orders list and complete the payment there.
