Creating a tracking link
For creators promoting themselves off EVVA — how to make a link, the three destinations it can point at, and what each state of a link means.
A tracking link is the only thing on EVVA that earns you credit for traffic you send. Everything else you might share — your profile address, your direct storefront link, a post — produces no credit at all.
Make one
Name it
A name for your own reference, up to 120 characters. The preview row under it shows the shape of the address, not the address you will get — the short code is issued by EVVA when the link is created, and it is not derived from the name you typed.
The three destinations
The sheet lists three places a link can send somebody:
Pick the destination before you submit: a link’s destination is part of the address EVVA mints for it.
If the sheet cannot address a link at all it tells you which of three situations you are in: “Still reading your profile.” while it loads, “Your profile did not load, so this app cannot address a link yet. Try again.” if that read failed, and “Your profile has no public address yet.” only once your profile has been read cleanly. The last one is the only one that is about your account rather than about the app.
Copying and sharing
Each row carries the address EVVA minted, on EVVA’s own tracking domain — a short /r/ address. Press Copy to take it. If your browser blocks the copy you get “Could not copy — your browser refused”; select the address and copy it by hand.
Copy the address exactly as the row gives it. The short code is the whole of the link’s identity, so an address with a character missing or an extra one appended is not a shorter version of your link — it is a link that does not exist.
Anyone following a /r/ address that has expired, been disabled or never existed gets a plain “Not found”. Every one of those cases looks identical from outside on purpose, so nobody can probe which codes exist.
Retrying is safe
Every link creation carries a one-time key, so a retry after a timeout cannot create a second link. If something goes wrong you get “That link was not created. Nothing was sent twice — try again.” Take that sentence literally: retry rather than checking for duplicates.
If you press create twice very quickly, the second attempt is told the first one is still in flight and asked to come back — which is not a failure either.
The life of a link
A link is in one of four states: draft, active, paused or archived. A link you create through the sheet is active as soon as EVVA has minted its address.
There is no delete. Archived is final — you cannot move a link out of it. Archive a link only when you are certain you will never want its history back, and remember that the address may still be live in somebody’s post.
If you rename and archive a link in the same action and the archive move is not allowed, the rename still happens. The part that was legal is applied, and only the illegal move is refused — so re-read the row rather than assuming nothing changed.
The place you posted it and the “channel” are two different facts
The eight platforms above are places. They are recorded as the source of the link. A link also has a declared channel — a broader category such as social, email or messaging — and the create sheet deliberately does not set it, because mapping “Instagram” onto “social” would lose which place it was.
Your declared channel is a statement of intent, and EVVA never reconciles it against what actually arrived. Do not read it as a measurement. Older links created before this screen existed show their declared channel instead of a place.
