How identity verification works
For anyone at the last step of creator setup — what happens when you press “Verify and start earning”, how long it takes, and where the result appears.
You press one button, leave EVVA for our verification partner’s hosted check, photograph your ID document there, and the result comes back to EVVA on its own — normally within a few minutes. You do not have to keep the page open, but it is the most reliable place to see the answer.
Before you start
Verify your identity Verification is quick, and it is what lets you get paid. Your documents are handled to industry standards and never shown on your profile.
The screen adds: “Have your passport, driver’s licence or ID card ready.”
If you chose 18+ content, use a document that shows your date of birth. Your age is a separate fact from your identity and is checked separately — see creator type and content type.
What happens when you press the button
EVVA opens a check with the verification partner
Identity checks run on Didit, EVVA’s verification partner. You are sent to verification.didit.me — that address is expected, not a redirect gone wrong.
You complete the check there
The documents and photographs go to the partner, not through the EVVA page. No key or session token for the partner is ever handed to your browser.
You are returned to the setup page
The return trip carries no result with it. The page simply re-reads your status.
The decision arrives separately
The partner sends the outcome to EVVA directly. That is what moves you forward — see what each identity verification result means.
Pressing the button twice does not start a second check. It resumes the one you already have, so if you closed the partner’s tab by accident, press it again and you carry on in the same check.
Coming back to EVVA proves nothing
This surprises people. Landing back on the setup page does not mean you passed, and the page may still say “We are checking your identity” for a while after you finish at the partner. Nothing is wrong: the page is waiting for the decision, which travels by its own route.
While you wait
We are checking your identity This normally finishes in a few minutes. You can close this page — we will hold your place.
Underneath it there is a Checking… spinner and the line “This page updates on its own.” The page re-checks your status every 8 seconds for as long as it is open, so you do not need to refresh it.
If your check goes to a person to look at by hand, the wording changes to “Your verification is being reviewed — someone is looking at it by hand. This can take a little longer than the automated check.” There is nothing to do while that runs.
How the result reaches you
The setup page is the dependable place to watch: leave it open, or open it again later, and it re-checks your status every 8 seconds.
EVVA also raises an in-app notification — “There is an update on your identity verification.” You see that one in the EVVA app, since creator access is granted when you activate rather than before.
What EVVA receives
What the setup page acts on is the partner’s decision, plus your age or date of birth where the check provides one. Your documents are not shown on your profile and nothing from the check is published anywhere on EVVA.

If the last step shows “Identity checks are temporarily unavailable” and no button, the check could not be started just then — see when identity checks are unavailable.
