Why your post stopped showing in the feed
For creators whose reach dropped off — the 14-day recency window, the three-post cap, and what a new post is and is not given.
Almost always: recency ran out. Freshness is the single largest signal in the feed, and a post competes on it for 14 days. After that it can still appear, but only on the strength of the engagement it has already accumulated — and engagement is worth half of what recency is worth.
The clocks that run against a post
Three posts, whatever you publish
At most three of your posts can appear across one whole ranked run for a reader — not three per page, three in total. Publishing ten times in a day cannot win you ten slots; it puts your own posts in competition with each other.
A second post of yours on a reader’s page also has to be about 6.9 days fresher than whatever it is displacing, because of the diversity term. In practice: spacing posts out reaches more people than clustering them.
How your posts reach a feed at all
Each ranked run gathers candidates from separate routes before anything is scored, and they have different sizes: paid subscriptions bring up to 80 posts, people who follow you up to 60, the fresh public catalogue up to 60, and a small exploration slot up to 20 drawn from the 200 most recent items.
That ordering is the practical lever you have. Followers and subscribers are dedicated routes into somebody’s feed; being new in the catalogue is a route that everybody shares.
What a brand-new post is actually given
There is a cold-start allowance, and it is real but modest: weight 0.44 against a neutral starting assumption, which works out at about 0.22 for a post with no evidence at all. A single standing reaction on an established post is enough to overtake pure novelty.
There is no guaranteed share of impressions for new creators or new posts, and nothing you can buy or enrol in to get one. EVVA’s exploration slot can reserve at most two positions in a page, and which posts fill it is EVVA’s decision. Treat the cold-start allowance above as what being new gives you.
When a post is excluded rather than ranked low
The ranker fails closed. If it cannot establish that the owner of a post is both present and visible, the post is excluded from the run, not scored poorly. This is why a post can be wholly absent rather than merely buried.
If you are seeing none of your posts anywhere, check the two conditions in Why you are not in Discover before looking at ranking at all — and confirm the post is published rather than a draft.
Things that do not affect a post’s position
- Price, earnings, or what the post has made.
- Views, watch time, or how much of a video was completed — none of these are ranking signals.
- Editing or reposting to look newer: a post’s recency is its publication, not your last edit.
- Any setting, purchase or request. There is no boost.
One reader at a time
If a reader presses Not interested on one of your posts, that post is suppressed for that reader from then on. It affects nobody else’s feed, and you are not told it happened.
Occasionally a page is shorter than usual because one of the candidate routes was too slow to answer within its 750ms budget. That is a temporary shape, not a penalty.
