Your generation allowance
For creators who pressed generate and were told their allowance does not cover it — what an allowance is, what one run costs, and why there is no way to buy more.
Every AI run is paid for out of an allowance held on your account, measured in whole units. One run costs one unit, whatever it returns — a photo run that comes back with four variants is one unit, and so is each message an AI automation generates.
There is no way to buy units. EVVA has no top-up screen, no payment path and no button anywhere in the creator app that adds to your allowance. Only an EVVA operator can credit it.
So on an account nobody has credited, the very first press of Generate photo comes back with:
“Your generation allowance does not cover this request.”
That message reads as though a top-up exists. It does not. If you need an allowance, ask EVVA — there is nothing to do from your side.
What spends a unit
- A photo run in the Studio.
- Another set and Use my new prompt — each is a full run, not a free retry.
- Running an AI recipe. Its own page says so: “EVVA publishes these. Running one uses your generations.”
- Each message an AI automation generates when it fires.
What does not spend a unit
- Anything the platform refuses before it starts. When your allowance does not cover a request, nothing is held and nothing is deducted.
- A run that fails because the platform could not reach a provider, timed out, or has generation paused. All three say so explicitly: “Nothing was charged.”
- Editing your Personality answers, changing permissions, giving a consent or registering a reference. None of those generate anything.
When the Studio cannot tell you whether you were charged
One message is different from the rest:
“EVVA did not answer this one — The request was sent and no answer came back that this app could read, so it cannot tell you whether a run started or whether anything was charged. Generate again presents the same key, so EVVA answers with that one run rather than billing a second.”
Read the last sentence literally. Pressing Generate photo again after this message is safe: EVVA recognises the repeat as the same request and answers with the one run rather than starting and charging a second. Changing your prompt first makes it a new request, so leave it alone if you only want to find out what happened.
